The MAD-Open is our opensource 7″ race frame. The MAD-Open is an A-frame with a strong stretch and split-z (raised motors). There are only two types of arms. Straight and curved arms. It was developed to fit the Streetleague spec on the request of Colby Curtola. The MAD-Open is designed to work together with two of our custom carbon fiber layups produced in-house by us in Sweden. One layup is ~3mm for the center plates with a layup optimized for the shape of the main body. The other is a ~4mm plate for the arms with no fibers going across the arm. This lets us dramatically increase the stiffness and durability of the arm while keeping weight down.

The main body is built up by two different types of plates. One is the center plate where your stack is mounted (holes for both 30×30 and 20×20 stacks). The other is the top/bottom plate. The top and bottom plates are identical. This creates two levels with 20mm height each. Plenty of space to put your stack, VTX, LED controller and capacitor.

You are free to modify, produce and sell the MAD-Open as long as it is kept opensource and credit is clearly given to Madkwads (Madkwads AB).
We will happily help you with everything from ideas of modifications all the way into production. If you are a manufacturer who already has provisions for cutting we can supply the custom carbon fiber plates.
